Glenda Baguso, PhD, RN, MPH
Glenda N. Baguso, RN, PhD, MPH, CNS is an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Health & Aging and the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences in the UCSF School of Nursing. As a Registered Nurse (RN) for over 20 years, she brings more than 13 years of clinical experience in acute care settings and as a volunteer Director of Nursing at a community clinic in San Francisco. She also holds a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) license.
Dr. Baguso is a nurse scholar whose research is grounded in her clinical work with marginalized communities. Her work focuses on improving health outcomes by increasing healthcare access and engagement, specifically in HIV prevention and care for transgender women. She earned her PhD and her first master’s degree (MSN) at UCSF School of Nursing, a Master of Public Health (MPH) from UC Berkeley, and completed her postdoctoral training at the UCSF Center for AIDS Prevention Studies as a Trainee in AIDS Prevention Studies (TAPS) fellow.
