Software Information and Availability

Certain software is available free of charge to School of Nursing employees, students and volunteers. These programs may be installed on any computer used either part- or full-time for UCSF work:

Sophos Anti-Virus - Sophos anti-virus is available for Macintosh and Windows computers. Click here for more information and to download Sophos.

Firewalls - These are programs which prevent many "bad things" from happening between your computer and the outside world. Click here for information on Macintosh firewalls (see item #1). Click here for information on Windows firewalls (see item #1).

Microsoft Office Suite - The Microsoft Office Suite is available for Macintosh and Windows. Please contact the Computer Resource Analyst for assistance with installing this suite of programs.

SPSS - SPSS is available through a School of Nursing limited site license, generally for Principal Investigators only. Please see the Computer Resource Analyst for details.

Additional Software - There is additional software available through Galen. Information can be found at Galen's website. Also, various software packages are available through the UCSF Technology Store at discount prices.
