Install UCSF's SpySweeper anti-spyware software Supports Microsoft Windows
September 9, 2005: UCSF has released a centrally managed, automatically updated version of WebRoot's acclaimed SpySweeper, which protects against annoying adware and spyware software which may be installed on your computer, unwittingly or without your consent, while you use the internet. It is strongly recommended that all Windows based desktop and laptop computers install this software. Click here to download and install SpySweeper from UCSF ITS's web site.
Macintosh users please note: there is currently no known adware or spyware affecting Macintosh computers. Therefore, you do not need anti-spyware protection at this time.
October 25, 2006: Campus IT has made available the latest version of SpySweeper, version 3.1, which uses less of your PC's power and has improved spyware-fighting capabilities. If you already have SpySweeper installed, there is nothing you need do to obtain this new version; it will be automatically installed on your PC during a regular update cycle. Otherwise, installing SpySweeper as described above will install this new version.
